Conference Dinner

Date: Monday, 10th June 2013

The informal conference dinner will be held in the historic Dining Hall of Trinity College. Built c.1750, the Dining Hall houses paintings of all the past provosts and chancellors of Trinity College. The Hall was designed by Richard Cassels, who also designed Leinster House (the building which houses the Oireachtas, the national parliament of Ireland). Delegates will enjoy a drinks reception and a fork buffet dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. Traditional Irish music and dancing will provide the perfect setting for this themed dinner.

Tours

Dublin City Tour (Hop On, Hop Off)
This fully guided tour gives you an overall flavour of our historic and ancient city. You will see examples of Dublin’s superb architecture in the Georgian Streets and Squares. This hop-on-hop-off tour will allow you to visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Christchurch Cathedral, the Guinness Storehouse and the Old Jameson Distillery. Multilingual commentary available.

Tour duration is approximately 90 minutes

Details: This tour runs daily, with the first tour departing at 09.30hrs, every 8 to 20 minutes.

Cost: €18.00 per person

Tour departs from: 14 Upper O’Connell St, Dublin 1, or any of 25 stops on the route.

Newgrange (Full Day Tour)
This tour is also known as the Valley of the Kings Tour. It will take you back in time to the seat of the High Kings of Ireland at the Hill of Tara. You will be taken on a guided tour in the tombs the oldest and largest Neolithic burial chamber in Europe (3200BC), which predates the Egyptian Pyramids. Finally, you will visit the small fishing village of Howth which has spectacular views over Dublin Bay. Lunch is not included. Please wear comfortable footwear and bring a jacket/coat with you.

Details: This tour runs every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

Times: Tour departs at 09.00hrs and returns to Dublin at 17.00hrs approx.

Cost: €34.00 per person.

The Wicklow Mountains Valleys and Lakes Tour (Full Day Tour)
Sit back, relax and let us take you through some of the loveliest countryside in Ireland. This tour takes you first to the stunning 6th century monastic settlement in Glendalough. Our guide will take you around the site, which boasts a 10th century conical roofed Round Tower as well as a St. Kevin’s Kitchen and Cross. The tour trail continues to the pretty village of Avoca (home to the famous drama Ballykissangel), with a stop at the famous Avoca Handweavers. There you can enjoy a stroll around the village dropping into Fitzgerald’s pub or visiting the famous Handweavers craft shop. Lunch is not included, although a lunch venue will be available on the day.

Time: Tour departs at 09.15hrs and returns to Dublin at 17.15hrs approx.

Viking Splash Tour

This exciting Dublin tours depart from Stephen’s Green North close to Grafton Street. Keep an eye out for the Viking Splash Tours bus stop on Stephen’s Green North located just behind the taxi rank and water fountain. The fun-filled, sightseeing tour of Dublin lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. All passengers must be at the departure point 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tour time for boarding so please allow for this when planning.
